agora

this is a sculpture by magdalena abakanowicz titled agora that is at the south end of grant park in chicago. i find it a powerful piece composed of many bronze torso/leg figures each distinct yet gathered in the city. for some reason it came to mind when i again tried to sit down and express my thoughts via this blog....i've been stuck lately- questioning my words, my ideas - my self. the power and simplicity of this creative act has encouraged/ inspired me to make a movement and not have an expectation. so i begin again -attempting to simply enjoy expressing a thought.

just the beginning...

it's been cold and kind of gray lately, but if i look for a moment the incredible beauty is always there. the snow and long, glistening icicles make this time visually striking. i do appreciate how festive the downtown center of this area begins to look. and that sliver of a moon tonight is a feast for my senses.

where did the time go?

they arrived on october 28th, and left on november 30th- my cousin and her two daughters, came from australia and filled my house with happiness, love, and a little madness at times. like our previous visits, the joy is matched in intensity by the sorrow of the parting. maybe the distance helps to keep each moment valuable and precious when we are together. this has been an unusual and special year because i had visited her in sydney this past march. lucky us, to connect twice in such a short time. i am full of inspiration and possibility, my well is full for the time being............. so many moments to reflect on--
